Bachelor of Arts (B.A. in English Language and Literature)

In order to receive a B.A. degree in English Language & Literature, students must successfully complete (128) credit hours. These include (18) credit hours general university requirements, (14) credit hours for the elective requirements, and (96) credit hours for the core programme requirements.

Programme Objectives: 
The English Language & Literature Programme aims to:

Upgrade students' proficiency in English communication skills

Improve their future career prospects locally and worldwide
Provide students with new ideas to discuss, analyze, understand, internalize, and, more importantly, use in their on-going quest for experience and expertise in their area of specialization (linguistics and literature).
Provide students with quality education in English language and literature in the context of distance learning, which encompasses learning from written texts, classroom discussions and tutorials, talks and lectures, audio and video cassettes, group discussions, case studies and project work in an environment that is conducive to learning.
