Junior Network Specialist

As part of our digital growth and increasing operational demands, we are expanding our IT team and looking for a Junior Network specialist to support the design, maintenance, and development of our growing network infrastructure.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a professional IT environment, receive hands-on mentorship, and grow into a senior role.
Responsibilities
- Assist in configuring and maintaining network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, access points).
- Monitor network performance and uptime using tools like PRTG, SolarWinds, or Nagios.
- Participate in LAN, WAN, and wireless deployments across branches or locations.
- Handle network-related service tickets and provide Level 1/2 support for end-users.
- Support cable management, patching, and physical network infrastructure.
- Assist in managing IP address assignments and maintaining IPAM records.
- Implement and troubleshoot VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, and trunking (802.1Q).
- Perform basic firewall rule configuration and assist with NAT and ACLs.
- Support VPN configuration (IPSec, SSL) for remote employees.
- Conduct regular health checks and performance tuning of network devices.
- Collaborate with systems, security, and helpdesk teams for cross-functional tasks.
- Participate in network audits and security assessments.
- Assist with firmware upgrades and software patching network devices.
- Stay updated with emerging networking trends and technologies.
- Report directly to the Senior Network Engineer or IT Infrastructure Lead.
Requirements
- We are looking for candidates with the following profile:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications.
- 2 years, minimum experience in practical field.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, Subnetting, and OSI model.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies (experience with CLI is a plus).
- Certification: CCNA preferred (or actively studying toward certification).
- Knowledge of routing protocols (static, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP).
- Understanding Layer 2 technologies: STP, port security, trunking, EtherChannel.
- Basic familiarity with firewalls (Cisco ASA, FortiGate, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring or diagnostic tools (Wireshark, ping, traceroute).
- Understanding of wireless networking concepts and standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac).
- Ability to read and create network diagrams and configuration documents with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Good time management and task prioritization abilities.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to team success.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good speaking and writing skills in English / Arabic
