Training and Community Service Center at the Arab Open University
Introduction: In line with the vision and mission of the Arab Open University, which aims to play a leading role in the field of education and scientific research, and in accordance with its mission to prepare highly qualified personnel across various specializations, the Training and Community Service Center has always keen to achieve the highest degree of compatibility between the skills of university members and graduates and the demands of the labor market for qualified human resources. To achieve this goal, the university has decided to establish the Training and Community Service Center, which aims to achieve a connection and integration between the theoretical knowledge in the college and the practical experiences in the labor market. Additionally, it plays a role in helping students discover their abilities, potential, and weaknesses through practical work experience. The Training and Community Service Center aims to focus on all aspects of the training process, including training needs assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs, organizing seminars and workshops for university members and students, and working on developing their skills in accordance with the university's plans and objectives. This reflects on enhancing the university's image within the community.

Vision: To provide exceptional training services to university members and contribute to community service and development.
Mission: To provide high-quality training services to all university members and community groups, providing them with labor market skills through an attractive, advanced training environment, and a training model that overcome obstacles. Additionally, the center aims to contribute to community development by providing an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and sustainable development in Egyptian society.
Objectives of the Training and Community Service Center
- To plan and prepare training programs based on the actual needs of all university programmes and seek alternative funding sources for these programs.
- To develop scientific approaches in critical and innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities among students, helping them in renewal, modernization, and innovation.
- To utilize the diverse experiences of university staff members and develop professional, cultural, social competencies, and positive values among administrative staff to ensure quality in administrative work.
- To exchange experiences and enhance technical skills between the center and external training centers, and actively participate in community and environmental service to strengthen the relationship between the university and the local community.
- To contribute the university's self-development by providing training services to various community groups in line with the university's mission and vision as an educational institution in the field of education and vocational training.
- Linking the theoretical and practical courses within the university to actual work sites in companies, institutions, and factories of different types and specialties, enabling colleges to achieve their primary goal of graduating distinguished, qualified graduates capable of effectively contributing to community development.
Tasks of the Training and Community Service Center
- To provide and implement programs that promote sustainable development, including seminars, workshops, and periodic publications aimed at academics, administrators, and students to enhance the university's competitiveness.
- To establish communication channels between the training center and community segments, and sign protocols with institutions to contribute to the self-development of the institution.
- To meet the training needs of the various university colleges regarding modern training trends by providing seminars, workshops, and training programs, while engaging specialized professors.
- To provide monthly reports on the executed training programs.
- To prepare training personnel with the necessary competencies and skills to carry out various activities.
- To evaluate all types of training programs conducted at the university and preparing the necessary forms.
- To prepare the publications and materials needed for training courses.
- To carry out any other tasks assigned within its scope of responsibilities.
