Please read the university instructions and regulations below carefully, and in case

The academic year in the Arab Open University consists of two semesters and a
summer semester. The duration of the regular semester is (12-16) weeks, while the
duration of the summer semester is (8) weeks, and the study in this semester is
optional.
The maximum limit for completing the requirements of any of the programs offered
by the University at the undergraduate level is (16) sixteen semesters, equivalent to (8)
eight years. The minimum limit for graduating is (7) seven semesters, equivalent to
three and a half years.
The minimum number of registered units for a continuous student is eight credit hours
per semester and the maximum limit is 21 credit hours, provided that the GPA is not
less than 2.00.
The student’s attendance of tutorials in the registered courses is mandatory, and his
absence must not exceed (25%) of the number of scheduled tutorials according to the
approved University calendar, this means that his attendance rate is (75%).
A student will receive a warning if his/her GPA is less than (2.00) at the end of any
semester and who has passed a minimum of 12 credit hours - except for the summer
semester.
A student would be dismissed from the University if he received five warnings during
five consecutive semesters of which the summer semester is not included.
The freshman student may not withdraw all courses or suspend the registration during the
admission semester.
A Continuous (non-freshman) student may postpone his studies within a period not
exceeding two weeks from the beginning of the semester, and it is not calculated from
the maximum limit of the permitted academic period for completing the graduation
requirements.
A student is considered to have dropped out if he did not register for any course
during any semester. That semester is counted within the permitted study period
unless the student submits a compulsive excuse approved by the Branch Director. In
case of approval, the student is considered to be postponed for that semester, provided
that the period of postponement in both cases does not exceed four semesters, whether
consecutive or intermittent.
The equalization request is submitted in the admission semester only and at a date
determined by the University administration later, and in case the student wants to
equalize courses he previously studied in other educational institutions, it is preferable
not to register elective courses because they may be equalized to him/her later
Student registration will be cancelled in the following cases:

When applying in person for a withdrawal.

If no courses were registered during the first semester of joining the University.

If no courses were registered for three consecutive semesters without an acceptable excuse.

If the student is issued FIVE warnings for FIVE consecutive semesters.
Student application will be cancelled in the following cases:

Violation of any of the aforementioned conditions of acceptance.
Paying Tuition Fees:

Through financial affairs or online.

Instalments are NOT available in the first registered semester.
Required Documents:

Original high school transcript.

Original birth certificate.

Copy of National ID.

THREE personal photos.

For Egyptian male students: Recruitment Forms (2) and (6).

For International Students: FIVE copies of passport.
In cases of previous enrolment in another university: original transcript and courses description to complete any requested equivalency procedures

TOEFL Certificate (if taken and as still under TWO years of validity).

Student ID number is taken from the online AOU application.

Original TOEFL or IELTS (if taken).
