Subject to the local accreditation requirements of each campus, the following procedures summarize the basis of the courses’ equivalency at the Arab Open University according to the deadlines set by the Admission and Registration Department for this purpose:

General conditions for equivalency.
| Completion of the required course for equivalency at a higher educational institutions recognized by the concerned authorities in the concerned country. Number of hours of the required course to be equivalent equals or increases the number of authorized hours for courses in the university. The content of the required course to be equivalent is at least 70% from the content of the concerned course.
| Completion of the required course for equivalency within postgraduate program before admission at Arab Open University by recognized educational institutions by the campus.

What are the courses that can be equivalent?
| Any course except the courses drawn from the open university in UK, which are in level two or three.

The required grade for equivalency. | Completion of the required course for equivalency with at least grade (C) or its equivalent. | Completion of the required course for equivalency with grade not less than three points (3.00) from the four-point scale or equivalent.

The validity of the required course for equivalency.
| No more than five years have been passed since being equalized. | No more than five years have been passed since being equalized.

The maximum permissible limit for equivalency.
| 64 credit hours at most. | It is permissible to equal no more than nine (9) credit hours from previously obtained master's degree courses, provided that they are equivalent in content and level to the program plan decisions.

- The word "Transferred" (T) appears as letter grade for the equivalent course at the beginning of the student's transcript.
- No points are calculated for the equivalent courses and therefore do not fall within the calculation of the student's semester or cumulative GPA, but the number of credits is calculated within the number of hours completed for the program.
